Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Chiangmai/Thaton ( L/D )
Thailand Executive Travel guide will pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai at 08:00am from where you head off to visit Mea Sa Elephant Camp where you can see elephants demonstrating their intelligence and skills. After the show guests can enjoy a 1 hour jungle tour on elephant back. Lunch will be served at an orchid and butterfly farm where guests can walk amongst thousands of colorful orchids and butterflies. Continue on to Thaton where you visit Thaton Temple on top of a hill which overlooks a beautiful valley and winding kok river below which until 1880 used to be the Thai Burmese border. Wat Thaton is one of the most peaceful and easily accessible settings for meditation practice. Dinner and over night at a very peaceful chalet resort at Thaton.
Day 2 : Thaton/Hilltirbe village/Long Neck Tribe/Chiangrai ( B/L/D )
Early morning start of 08:00am from where you visit a Karen Long Neck Tribe Village. This famous tribe wear golden rings around their necks arms and legs. In the same area you will see the Akha Tribe which originates from Tibet. They are a proud tribe maintaining their customs and wear richly decorated costumes. You continue on to lunch at the Maesai River, the Thai Mynmar (Burmese) border. Here you have a beautiful view overlooking Burmese mountains, City, and Temples. You will visit Mea Sai tax free market that sells a variety of goods including carvings and clothing. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, or hotel buffet. In the afternoon you head off to the Golden Triangle where you visit the opium house at the legendary Meakong river, which winds its path through China to the Golden triangle. Standing on Thai soil you will overlook Burma and Laos. From the Golden triangle you head off for the ancient city of Chaingsean, original capital of the Lanna kingdom, which originated around 1328. You can visit the multitude of sites including ancient ruins of temples, stupas, and ancient city wall and moat. Then off to Chiang Rai where you overnight at a hotel, from where guests are within walking distance of the Night Market.
Day 3 : Chiangrai/Chiangmai ( B/L )
You set off at 08:30 am to visit Wat Prakaew in Chiang Rai City. This Thai Temple with a rich history was built over 600 years ago. According to Thai history the famous Emerald Buddha now in Bangkok Grand Palace was originally found in a stuppa struck by lightning in the grounds of the temple. The Emerald Buddha resided in Wat Prakaew for 45 years, from where it was moved to many countries and places in Thailand until 200 years ago residing in the Grand Palace in Bangkok. The current Jade Buddha was made for the current Kings mother when she was 90 years old. You are then off to the Kok River where you take a long tail boat up the winding river to visit a Karen hilltribe village. Guests can visit the hilltribe school. The bus then heads off from the village to Chiang Rai where lunch will be served at a local restaurant or Hotel buffet. Continue on to Wat Rongkoon which is a fairy tale lovers delight , the white temple designed and built by a Thai artist is now a major attraction of Thais and Tourists alike. Return to your hotel in Chiang Mai around 7:00pm or airport drop off for your next destination.
